Speakers for 2010

Many highlights of Girls State came from the exciting speakers who shared their experiences and thoughts with the delegates. Several of the speakers are gifted members of the ALA VGS staff and counselor team.

The speakers for 2010 ALA VGS included Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, Victoria McCullough, former Major Kathy Isaacson and Amy Piper.


Directions to ALA VGS at Lipscomb University

From North of Nashville on I-65 or I-24

1. Take I-65 to I-40 West to I-440 East.
2. Take Exit 3 ( 21st Ave./Hillsboro Pike).
3. When the off-ramp splits, follow the signs to Hillsboro Pike.
4. Once you are on Hillsboro Pike, turn left at the third stoplight. This is Woodmont Blvd.
5. Turn right onto Granny White Pike.
6. Go approximately two blocks and the campus will be on your right.
7. Registration will be held at the Bennett Campus Center.

From South of Nashville on I-65 or I-24

1. Take I-440 West.
2. Take Exit 3 (21st Ave./Hillsboro Pk).
3. When the off-ramp splits, follow the signs to Hillsboro Pike.
4. Once you are on Hillsboro Pike, turn left at the third stoplight. This is Woodmont Blvd.
